Our vision

Rangjung Yeshe Gomde is a non-profit (law of 1901) French association of French speaking students of the Venerable Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche and other Lamas associated with the Chokling Tersar Buddhist lineage.

We feel very fortunate that in early 2017, we have opened a new Center in France, in the beautiful mountain range of the Pyrénées-Orientales, not far from the city of Perpignan.

The Gomdé center in France

The center is located on 7 hectares (17.5 acres) in the Aspres region of the Pyrénées Orientales, at an altitude of 900 m, not far from the city of Perpignan. The property is covered with fields of grass, oak, beech, fruit and chestnut trees. This is a very secluded and undisturbed natural environment where the only sounds you are likely to hear would be those of sheep, bird songs and the gentle noise of rustling leaves. This blessed land, with its blue sky canopy and pristine air, is bathed nearly 300 days a year in sunshine while enjoying the protection of the Natura 2000 European Law.

Words from Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche:

I am pleased to tell you that I visited our new Center this past January 2017 to celebrate this auspicious moment for the practitioners and our dharma friends in France and in Europe, and I offered a short seminar on the Four Seals of Buddhist teachings.
This secluded haven is perfect for meditation. I’m sure it will be extremely beneficial for Dharma practitioners.

The project

The Rangjung Yeshé Gomdé center in France is not meant only as a teaching and practice center for French-speaking and Spanish-speaking students of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoché. Following the wish of Rinpoché, it aims at becoming an international retreat place, open to any person sincerely wishing to practice meditation, for a few days or a few months.
