Sphere of Refined Gold - Mingling the Threefold Sky - Teachings from the Great Perfection tradition - Vajrasattva Empowerment
Mingling the Threefold Sky A unique method to enhance one’s practice within the tradition of the Great Perfection.
“Why should we engage in this threefold sky practice? Space, by itself, is totally unconfined. There is no center and no edge in any direction whatsoever. Directing the gaze into the midst of empty space is an aid for allowing oneself to experience the similarly unconfined and all-pervasive state of rigpa.” ~ Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche
Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, our venerable and most loved teacher has kindly accepted our request to share his wisdom and advice for this practice during the upcoming winter retreat at Gomde’s secluded Pyrénées mountain retreat home.
We will be welcoming Rinpoche ceremoniously on his arrival at Gomde Pyrénées on the 11th of January. If you are not able to participate in our winter retreats but wish to attend Rinpoche’s teachings, we request you to please plan precisely for an arrival at Gomde on the 11th. Rinpoche will commence with dharma teachings on the morning of 12th January and he has graciously agreed to conclude these teachings with bestowing the Vajrasattva empowerment on January 15th.
Rinpoche will teach in his warm, clear and authentic manner by continuing the instructions on realizing mind nature. He will comment on the profound pith instruction text on the Great Perfection, the Sphere of Refined Gold by the Rimay master Jamgon Kongtrul I (1813-1899).
Additionally, Rinpoche graciously accepted our request to give the Vajrasattva empowerment from the Chokling Tersar Lineage. Vajrasattva is considered the source of all maṇḍalas and the embodiment of all Buddha families. Most commonly Vajrasattva is practiced as a way to cleanse all negative actions and breakages of samaya by connecting to the ultimately pure nature of phenomena, the ultimate Vajrasattva.
We have specifically requested that Rinpoche offer this empowerment so that those who are joining the three month retreat in 2020 and the three-year retreat in 2021 will have the appropriate ripening empowerment for practice. if you are planning to attend either of those retreats, we would especially recommend that you attend this event.
