Rangjung Yeshe Gomde Pyrénées is a Buddhist retreat center founded by Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, located in the Pyrenees mountains in the south of France. Gomde is both remote and easily accessible, and graced with silence and stunning natural beauty. We offer opportunities for self-guided individual retreat as well as organised group retreats and seminars. A combination of retreat and volunteering is also possible.
If you wish to visit us for a day, please read the information here. We have a daily morning and afternoon group practice that visitors are welcome to join, as well as various online practice opportunities.
Please enjoy this video from Rinpoche's last visit in September 2022.
In the video above, Rinpoche shares his advice about three-year retreat. We can all rejoice that the first three-year retreatant successfully started in the summer of 2022!

The next 3-month retreat is from March 14th to June 8th! Join us!
We are delighted to announce that the registration for the onsite three-month retreat beginning March 14 is now officially open. Please follow this link to register for the retreat. If you have any additional questions, please email us directly at email@example.com. We rejoice in your interest in retreat!
On the auspicious Dakini Day, March 17, 2023, Gomde Pyrénées will begin our annual organized group retreat under the guidance of Drubpön Tenzin Sangpo. The retreat is based on the text Sphere of Refined Gold, a terma revealed by Chokgyur Lingpa with commentary by Jamgön Kongtrul Rinpoche. This practice is combined with a daily group practice of Vajrasattva.
To participate in the retreat one would ideally have received:
the Vajrasattva empowerment in the Chokling Tersar Lineage
teachings on Sphere of Refined Gold from Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche or another highly qualified master.
The minimum prerequisites are to have a strong foundation in Buddhist practice through both study and time spent in retreat, and to have received teachings on the Great Perfection from a highly qualified master. If in doubt, one should ask Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche if it would be beneficial to participate in the retreat. If you have additional questions about your eligibility, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will discuss them with Drubpön Lama Tenzin.
We ask that ALL participants arrive at Gomde by the morning of March 14 in order to prepare their individual shrines and to participate in the orientation sessions. In order to accommodate international students with various visa requirements, we will conclude the retreat on June 8. This allows people the ability to travel and stay within the 90-day limit of stay in France.
Please follow this link to register for the retreat. Everyone is required to fill out an application fully regardless of previous experience. We have a limited number of rooms available, and this retreat always fills up quickly. We ask you to use only that form to apply so that we can be fair to all who wish to participate. The three-month retreat is an excellent way to prepare for the three-year retreat if you aspire to do it in the future. It will be magical to do the three-month retreat at the same time that 15 people are doing three-year retreat close by.
