Gomde Pyrenees offers individual rooms, cabins or tipis for practitioners of all lineages and backgrounds to come for personal retreat. Our talented volunteer cooks will spoil you with three delicious vegetarian meals per day, and the trails and fields in and around la bastide provide ample places to be outside in nature. We hope this beautiful and remote place of natural beauty, with its stunning sunrises and deep blue skies, can inspire the contemplative arts and practices of all kinds. Retreat with Part Time Volunteering
Gomde is entirely run by volunteers, and we often need an extra set of hands for housework, assisting in the kitchen, and especially in the areas of construction and maintenance. Annual Group retreats
Three-month spring retreat & six-week fall retreat
Every year gomde offers two organized group retreats under the guidance of Lama Tenzin Sangpo, on the text Sphere of Refined Gold, a terma revealed by Chokgyur Lingpa with commentary by Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, combined with a daily group practice of Vajrasattva. The three month retreat begins in early March and ends in late May or early June each year. The six-week retreat begins approximately in late September and finishes in early November. What are the prerequisites for the retreat?
To participate in the retreat one would ideally have received:

the Vajrasattva empowerment in the Chokling Tersar Lineage

teachings on Sphere of Refined Gold from Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche or another highly qualified master.
The minimum prerequisites are to have a strong foundation in Buddhist practice through both study and time spent in retreat, and to have received teachings on the great perfection from a highly qualified master. If in doubt, one should ask Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche if it would be beneficial to participate in the retreat. Online Retreats
We are offering online versions of the 6 week and 3 month retreats. The dates for these retreats are the same as for the onsite retreats, with possibility to join the group daily practice sessions and bi-weekly Q&A sessions with Lama Tenzin live via zoom.
